Mats Compatible with Flames of War

Flames of War is a game of whole companies: a tank platoon is five Shermans, not one, and a battle covers a village, the fields around it and the road the reserves come down. That is why the game lives on a 6'x4' table. This collection gathers our 72"x48" / 183x122 cm rubber mats in the designs that fit a 15 mm Second World War battlefield.

The size
72"x48" / 183x122 cm is the standard Flames of War table for 100-point games. Every mat below is made in this size, so you get the full width for flanking moves and the full depth for artillery and reserves.

Theatres of war

• Western and Eastern Europe: Fields of War with its overgrown fields and worn paths, Grassland and Universal Grass for open countryside, Heroic Grass and Treasure Land for rolling green ground, and Crossroads for the cobbled roads an armoured column has to use.
• North Africa and the Mediterranean: Sandy Desert’s dunes, Rocky Desert’s cracked earth, Red Desert’s rust-red ground and the sun-baked walls of Desert Ruin for Afrika Korps and Eighth Army.
• Towns and cities: Ruined City and Ruined Streets for street fighting in rubble, Aftermatch Plaza for a bombed-out square, Paved Plaza and Keep Yard for old stone towns before the shells arrive.
• Woods and dense vegetation: Undergrowth for forest edges and bocage-style fighting, Jungle for island and far-eastern scenarios.
  Imagine a Panzer column rolling down Crossroads towards a village on the far edge of the mat, while British infantry dig in across Fields of War: the whole 6'x4' is in play from the first turn.

Battlefront’s Cold War game uses the same 15 mm scale and the same table, so the grass, forest and town designs double as a 1980s Germany for Team Yankee.

Built for a long campaign
Each mat is rubber with a polyester fabric top and a sublimation print, so the ground stays sharp game after game. The base grips the table, the soft surface protects 15 mm vehicles and infantry stands, and the laser-cut edges do not fray. Roll it up after the game and it travels to the club in a bag.
