Mats Compatible with Magic: The Gathering

Every Magic player ends up with a mat. The question is whether it is a freebie from a prerelease that curls at the corners, or something that lies flat for the whole Friday Night Magic and tells you where your graveyard is. These mats are the second kind.

The size
24"x14" / 61x35.5 cm is the standard single-player playmat: it fits a tournament table half, leaves room for a Commander deck box beside it, and rolls up to fit in a backpack with the deck.

Zone mats

• Black holo grid, Standard edition: a black mat with a holographic grid marking library, graveyard, exile, battlefield and hand zones for 60-card formats. Clean, readable, no artwork to argue with the cards.
• Lotus grid: the same zone layout over a lotus artwork, for players who want the structure and a look.

Art mats
Space Ring, Dead City and Mayan are 24"x14" rubber mats with a full-bleed scene and no zones, so a deck with a theme gets a battlefield to match: a planetary ring for the artifact deck, a ruined city for the zombies, a Mayan temple for the green stompy.

Why rubber
2 mm natural rubber with a soft fabric top and a single-sided sublimation print. The base grips the table, the surface is gentle on sleeves and lets you pick up a single card without a fingernail, and the laser-cut edges do not fray after years of shuffling. Wipe it with a damp cloth and it is ready for the next event.
