A battle map has to keep up with the game. Printed maps run out, tiles never fit the room the GM has in mind, and paper tears by the third session. A dry-erase mat does the job of all of them: draw the corridor, run the fight, wipe it, draw the next one.

How the mats are built

  • 0.7 mm PVC with a glossy dry-erase layer: write with any whiteboard marker, wipe with a cloth, no ghosting after a long campaign.
  • A printed square or hex grid underneath, so distances and areas of effect are read straight off the mat.
  • Rolls up for transport and lies flat on the table. A dry-erase marker comes in the box.

Two sizes, two grids

  • 50x50 cm: a tavern brawl, a cave, a single encounter. Fits a kitchen table with room for the books.
  • 80x80 cm: a whole dungeon level, a village street, a running battle. The size most groups settle on.
Each size comes with a square grid for Dungeons & Dragons and Pathfinder, or a hex grid for systems and hexcrawls that count movement in hexes.

Six grounds

  • Grass: meadows, forest clearings and open battlefields.
  • Papyrus: an aged parchment look for maps that feel hand-drawn, a game master favourite.
  • Dungeon: stone corridors ready for the classic crawl.
  • Cobblestone: town streets, market squares and back alleys.
  • Snow: frozen ground for winter campaigns.
  • White: a blank grid for drawing everything yourself.
Imagine session night: the GM sketches a crypt on Dungeon in two minutes, the rogue’s 15-foot cone is three squares on the grid, nobody argues, and after the fight one wipe clears the table for the next room.

Our mats suit any tabletop roleplaying game but are not official products of Wizards of the Coast, Paizo or other publishers. Pick a print and start drawing.
