Torch beams find the floor first: dark slabs carved with straight channels that still glow green, bright round nodes where the lines meet, and a fissure full of rubble splitting the chamber. DeathWorld Tomb lays that floor on a two-foot square of rubber (61 x 61 cm) for Stargrave crews who go looting where the doors were sealed for a reason. The double-sided version adds a green grass face on the reverse.

Key features of the DeathWorld Tomb 24" x 24" mat

  • Green light in carved channels - straight channels cut into dark grey slabs glow green and run between bright round nodes, some of them ringed by concentric carvings, so the whole floor looks wired up.
  • Fissures packed with rubble - cracks full of broken stone split the slabs into separate sections, with thin green light leaking through the rubble; they make natural lanes and edges for your scenery.
  • Grates, vents and sockets - cross-hatched grates, rows of vent slits and small round sockets are set into the slabs - details that suit loot markers, terminals or the place where something crawls out.
  • Two millimetres of rubber - the polyester face takes the print, natural rubber gives it 2 mm of body, and a laser trims the edges; single-sided copies keep the table steady with a non-slip underside, double-sided ones turn over to green grass, and you can roll or fold either one.

Where the DeathWorld Tomb 24" x 24" mat fits

Corner starts on a small table - normally each crew sets up within 2" of its own table edge and at least 6" from any other edge, but when the table is very small, like the one this mat makes, the Stargrave rules recommend starting in the corners instead - within 5" of your own corner.

Loot that changes hands - a figure can carry only one loot marker, the marker moves with it, nobody can pick one up while an enemy is within 1", and if the carrier is killed, the marker stays exactly where the figure fell.

Doors, powers and their price - one scenario has the crews force a large door with a Fight roll against 14 before the loot can be reached, and every power is a d20 roll against its activation number - you may pay Health point for point to raise the result, and powers with a Fatigue cost deal that much damage to the figure using them.

XP between games - a crew earns XP for taking part, for loot it frees and for powers it activates successfully, up to 300 XP in a single game, and each 100 XP buys the captain or first mate one level.

Campaigns for one or two players - Hope Eternal (2022) links ten scenarios in three parts for solo or co-op play, with new rules for underwater and high-radiation environments and for half-sized crews, while Dead or Alive (2024) builds solo bounty hunts from 20 marks, 20 settings and 20 complications - 8,000 combinations, with bounties from 150 to 400 credits.

What makes the DeathWorld Tomb 24" x 24" mat different

Fallen City is a grey industrial deck of bolted plates and hazard stripes, Ruined City and Aftermatch Plaza are bombed streets and squares, and Lava Fields glows orange through cracked black rock. In DeathWorld Tomb the light runs in straight, carved lines: green channels cross dark slabs to bright nodes, and rubble-filled fissures cut the chamber into separate platforms - an alien vault, a buried complex or the inside of something old that a crew of looters has just woken. This is the smallest DeathWorld Tomb we make; the biggest is 44" x 60".

Frequently asked questions

Do the glowing nodes do anything in the rules?

Not by default - the print carries no game effects. Whether a node is a loot point, an objective or only scenery is for your group to agree before deployment.

Is there a bigger DeathWorld Tomb?

Yes - DeathWorld Tomb 36" x 36" gives the 3' x 3' table that reviewers recommend for most Stargrave games.

What does the second face show?

Green grass with a few sandy patches, if you order the double-sided version; single-sided copies have a bare rubber underside that does not slip.

FAQ

How long does it take to make and send my order?

Products from our regular offer are usually made and handed to the carrier within up to 10 business days of your order. If your order needs more time, we let you know by email. Orders paid by bank transfer go into production once the payment reaches us.

How long does delivery take?

Courier shipments within Europe arrive within 3 to 5 business days of dispatch. Parcel post can take up to 2 weeks within the European Union and more than a month outside it. Every order gets a tracking link, so you can follow the parcel all the way to your table.

How much does shipping cost?

Free shipping from 200 EUR within the EU and from 400 USD outside the EU. Below these thresholds, delivery costs depend on the destination and parcel weight. The exact price is shown at checkout.

Do you ship outside Europe?

Yes. Besides Europe, we ship by courier to the United States, Canada and Asia. Courier prices outside Europe depend on the destination and the weight of the parcel and are shown in the cart before you pay.

What payment methods can I use?

You can pay online through Stripe or PayPal, which covers credit cards and many popular banking systems, or by bank transfer. Unpaid bank transfer orders are cancelled five business days after they are placed. All prices in the store are gross prices in euro.

Will I get an invoice?

Yes. On request we issue a receipt or a VAT invoice for your order. It goes into the parcel or arrives by email as a PDF file, sent to the address you gave when ordering.

Will the product look exactly like the photos?

Very close, but not always identical. Phones and monitors show colours in RGB, and each screen renders them a little differently depending on brightness and settings. We print in CMYK with our own calibration and match the print to the design as closely as possible.

Is the size exactly as listed?

Almost. Our materials are cut at high temperatures, so the final dimensions of a mat can differ by up to +/- 5 mm from the listed size. On a gaming table this difference has no effect on play, deployment zones or card layouts.

Can I return this product if it is not right for my table?

Yes. You can withdraw from the purchase within 14 days of receiving it, without giving a reason, by sending us the return form. You cover the cost of sending the product back, and we refund your payment, including the original standard delivery cost. Custom products made to your own design cannot be returned this way.

What if my order arrives damaged or I get the wrong product?

File a complaint with your order number, a short description and photos of the problem. You can choose a refund of the price plus delivery or an exchange for a new or correct product, and we cover the shipping both ways. We respond to every complaint within 14 days.

Can I cancel my order before it arrives?

Yes. You can withdraw from the order at any point until you receive it by sending us a statement, for example the return form. This does not shorten your 14-day right to return the product after delivery.
