Nobody has driven this highway in years: the asphalt is cracked through, blast craters pit the dry ground beside it and rusting junk lies where it was dropped. Wasteland puts that stretch of road on a 24" x 24" (61 x 61 cm) natural rubber mat - a size that Space Weirdos, Five Parsecs from Home, Stargrave and MERCS 2.0 can all play on - as a single-sided mat or a double-sided one with grass on the back.

Key features of the Wasteland 24" x 24" mat

  • Highway, craters and scrap in the print - a cracked asphalt road with faded lane markings, scorched blast craters, rusting debris and sun-baked ground split by cracks, with the odd stubborn shrub - a battlefield with a story before the first model goes down.
  • Four games, one size - Space Weirdos plays its smallest 75-point games on a 24" x 24" board, the MERCS 2.0 rulebook suggests a play area of 2' x 3' or smaller, Five Parsecs from Home moves between 3' x 3' and 2' x 2' battles, and the Stargrave rules cover tables as small as 60 x 60 cm.
  • A grass battlefield on the back - the double-sided version is printed with green grass on the other side; the single-sided version sits on plain anti-slip rubber that holds the table.
  • Natural rubber for repeated games - a polyester top layer printed over 2 mm natural rubber, with the edges cut by laser; it wipes clean and travels rolled or folded.

Where the Wasteland 24" x 24" mat fits

Space Weirdos at 75 points - the game's smallest size uses a 24" x 24" board and roughly five to ten models a side, taken from whatever collection you own - and a separate set of solo rules covers the evenings when nobody else can play.

MERCS 2.0 fireteams - each side fields a team of five that deploys from opposite edges, measuring with the models' own cards; the rulebook wants buildings, bunkers, hills or walls on the table, and the road and craters give that scenery somewhere to stand.

The 2' x 2' fights in Five Parsecs from Home - the battlefield switches between 3' x 3' and 2' x 2' from one fight to the next, so this mat is ready for the smaller ones.

Stargrave crews on a small table - a captain, a first mate and up to eight soldiers make a crew of at most ten; the usual table is 3' x 3', but the rules also allow very small ones of around 60 x 60 cm, with crews deploying in the corners.

What makes the Wasteland 24" x 24" mat different

Ruined City and Desert Ruin put the fight inside a town; Wasteland is the road out of it - one cracked highway through open, sun-baked country, with craters and scrap left over from an earlier battle. It is also the smallest Wasteland mat we make, compatible with Stargrave, Five Parsecs from Home, MERCS 2.0 and Space Weirdos, while the double-sided version gives you a green battlefield on the back.

Frequently asked questions

Will MERCS 2.0 fit on a 2' x 2' mat?

Yes - the rulebook suggests a play area of 2' x 3' or smaller, so a 2' x 2' table is within its range for two teams of five.

What about bigger Space Weirdos games?

At 125 points the game moves to a 36" x 36" board, and there is a 36" x 36" Wasteland battle mat for that.

Is there a second design on the double-sided version?

Yes - green grass, for battles away from the wasteland. If grip on the table matters more to you, go for the single-sided version, which has anti-slip rubber underneath.

FAQ

How long does it take to make and send my order?

Products from our regular offer are usually made and handed to the carrier within up to 10 business days of your order. If your order needs more time, we let you know by email. Orders paid by bank transfer go into production once the payment reaches us.

How long does delivery take?

Courier shipments within Europe arrive within 3 to 5 business days of dispatch. Parcel post can take up to 2 weeks within the European Union and more than a month outside it. Every order gets a tracking link, so you can follow the parcel all the way to your table.

How much does shipping cost?

Free shipping from 200 EUR within the EU and from 400 USD outside the EU. Below these thresholds, delivery costs depend on the destination and parcel weight. The exact price is shown at checkout.

Do you ship outside Europe?

Yes. Besides Europe, we ship by courier to the United States, Canada and Asia. Courier prices outside Europe depend on the destination and the weight of the parcel and are shown in the cart before you pay.

What payment methods can I use?

You can pay online through Stripe or PayPal, which covers credit cards and many popular banking systems, or by bank transfer. Unpaid bank transfer orders are cancelled five business days after they are placed. All prices in the store are gross prices in euro.

Will I get an invoice?

Yes. On request we issue a receipt or a VAT invoice for your order. It goes into the parcel or arrives by email as a PDF file, sent to the address you gave when ordering.

Will the product look exactly like the photos?

Very close, but not always identical. Phones and monitors show colours in RGB, and each screen renders them a little differently depending on brightness and settings. We print in CMYK with our own calibration and match the print to the design as closely as possible.

Is the size exactly as listed?

Almost. Our materials are cut at high temperatures, so the final dimensions of a mat can differ by up to +/- 5 mm from the listed size. On a gaming table this difference has no effect on play, deployment zones or card layouts.

Can I return this product if it is not right for my table?

Yes. You can withdraw from the purchase within 14 days of receiving it, without giving a reason, by sending us the return form. You cover the cost of sending the product back, and we refund your payment, including the original standard delivery cost. Custom products made to your own design cannot be returned this way.

What if my order arrives damaged or I get the wrong product?

File a complaint with your order number, a short description and photos of the problem. You can choose a refund of the price plus delivery or an exchange for a new or correct product, and we cover the shipping both ways. We respond to every complaint within 14 days.

Can I cancel my order before it arrives?

Yes. You can withdraw from the order at any point until you receive it by sending us a statement, for example the return form. This does not shorten your 14-day right to return the product after delivery.
