Nobody has shelled this district yet: dark roads run straight between raised blocks of paving, the yellow bay lines and hazard stripes are still sharp, and only a few cracks and stains hint at what is coming. Imperial Warzone lays that street plan over a 61 x 61 cm rubber mat, a square two feet across - the table size Planet 28 recommends, and a board on which Necromunda's Zone Mortalis can also be played. Order the double-sided version and a grass field waits on the reverse.

Key features of the Imperial Warzone 24" x 24" mat

  • Raised blocks between straight streets - dark asphalt runs in straight lines around raised rectangular blocks, each framed by a low kerb with clipped corners, so a building, a container stack or a wall section has an obvious footprint to stand on.
  • Bay lines and hazard stripes - painted yellow lines mark out bays on the larger slabs, and yellow-and-black hazard stripes sit at corners and crossings - ready-made landing pads, checkpoints or objective zones.
  • Tiles, slabs and a city still standing - some blocks are paved in small square tiles, others in large slabs, with a crack or a dark stain here and there - but no rubble, craters or ruins, so the damage is whatever your scenery brings.
  • Two layers, one mat - a printed polyester top over a 2 mm natural-rubber base, its outline cut by laser; underneath, single-sided copies show plain rubber that grips the tabletop, double-sided copies a grass field, and the mat stores rolled or folded.

Where the Imperial Warzone 24" x 24" mat fits

Planet 28 in a baroque future - Planet 28, by Nic Evans, is subtitled Narrative Skirmish Gaming in a Baroque Future, and this city fits the brief. In the rules as first published, each character takes two actions a turn, Agility decides who goes first, tests are d10 rolls under a skill, and weapons roll their own damage - a Power Blade does 2d6 against the 20 health most characters start with.

Alone or together - Death On The Periphery brings solo play and a co-op mode, plus Escape From Lychester VII, a three-stage campaign to rescue a governor from a planet, whose story branches after each win or loss; Brutal Quest, also by Nic Evans, takes the same rules into fantasy.

Zone Mortalis in the 2026 edition - the new Necromunda reached shops on 15 August 2026: its core set pits eight Escher against eight Goliath and includes a double-sided 36" x 24" mat laid out to the same spacing as the plastic Zone Mortalis tiles; the rulebook maps cover nine tiles (36" x 36"), opening a door now costs 2" of movement instead of an action, and scenarios are generated from cards and tables.

Pipes for the tunnels - the Factoria Pipes kit (2026) has 73 plastic parts, among them a Promethium Generator, an Overseer Pulpit, valves and a crank, plus two plates sized to join the pipework to Zone Mortalis columns; a run can bridge two columns or walls or climb a pair of columns, and two pipe sections with a two-way connector span exactly the gap between columns on the tiles.

What makes the Imperial Warzone 24" x 24" mat different

Ruined City is a street after the fighting - broken paving, scorch marks, heaps of brick - and Fallen City a grey industrial floor of steel plates, gratings and yellow-black stripes, already strewn with rubble and split concrete. Imperial Warzone is the district before either happens: unbroken asphalt, raised paved blocks and painted markings, with nothing knocked down yet, so your own buildings and barricades decide what the battle looks like. It is the smallest Imperial Warzone mat, while the largest spans 72" x 48".

Frequently asked questions

Will it work for Deadzone (third edition)?

Not as it is. Deadzone 3 is also played on 2' x 2', but movement and range are counted in 3" cubes, horizontally and vertically, instead of with a tape measure - and no 8 x 8 grid is printed here; the squares in the paving are decoration, not cubes. For Deadzone, choose a gridded mat; Imperial Warzone suits rulesets that measure in inches, Planet 28 and Necromunda among them.

How many Zone Mortalis tiles does it equal?

Four - Zone Mortalis floor tiles are 12" square, so two by two give the same 24" x 24" as this mat. For the nine-tile maps (36" x 36") in the rulebook, pick Imperial Warzone 36" x 36".

Is there anything printed on the back?

Only on double-sided copies, which show green grass with bare sandy spots here and there - a field outside the city for the next game. Single-sided copies keep plain grippy rubber on that side.

FAQ

How long does it take to make and send my order?

Products from our regular offer are usually made and handed to the carrier within up to 10 business days of your order. If your order needs more time, we let you know by email. Orders paid by bank transfer go into production once the payment reaches us.

How long does delivery take?

Courier shipments within Europe arrive within 3 to 5 business days of dispatch. Parcel post can take up to 2 weeks within the European Union and more than a month outside it. Every order gets a tracking link, so you can follow the parcel all the way to your table.

How much does shipping cost?

Free shipping from 200 EUR within the EU and from 400 USD outside the EU. Below these thresholds, delivery costs depend on the destination and parcel weight. The exact price is shown at checkout.

Do you ship outside Europe?

Yes. Besides Europe, we ship by courier to the United States, Canada and Asia. Courier prices outside Europe depend on the destination and the weight of the parcel and are shown in the cart before you pay.

What payment methods can I use?

You can pay online through Stripe or PayPal, which covers credit cards and many popular banking systems, or by bank transfer. Unpaid bank transfer orders are cancelled five business days after they are placed. All prices in the store are gross prices in euro.

Will I get an invoice?

Yes. On request we issue a receipt or a VAT invoice for your order. It goes into the parcel or arrives by email as a PDF file, sent to the address you gave when ordering.

Will the product look exactly like the photos?

Very close, but not always identical. Phones and monitors show colours in RGB, and each screen renders them a little differently depending on brightness and settings. We print in CMYK with our own calibration and match the print to the design as closely as possible.

Is the size exactly as listed?

Almost. Our materials are cut at high temperatures, so the final dimensions of a mat can differ by up to +/- 5 mm from the listed size. On a gaming table this difference has no effect on play, deployment zones or card layouts.

Can I return this product if it is not right for my table?

Yes. You can withdraw from the purchase within 14 days of receiving it, without giving a reason, by sending us the return form. You cover the cost of sending the product back, and we refund your payment, including the original standard delivery cost. Custom products made to your own design cannot be returned this way.

What if my order arrives damaged or I get the wrong product?

File a complaint with your order number, a short description and photos of the problem. You can choose a refund of the price plus delivery or an exchange for a new or correct product, and we cover the shipping both ways. We respond to every complaint within 14 days.

Can I cancel my order before it arrives?

Yes. You can withdraw from the order at any point until you receive it by sending us a statement, for example the return form. This does not shorten your 14-day right to return the product after delivery.
