Nobody has swept this sector in years: deck plates lie where they dropped, rubble spills across the gratings, and yellow-black hazard stripes still mark ground that nobody guards. Fallen City lays that industrial floor over a two-foot square of natural rubber, 61 cm a side - the footprint of a four-tile Zone Mortalis board and the square the Core Space starter set fills - for Necromunda, Core Space and five more sci-fi skirmish games. Choose the double-sided version for a grass battlefield on its back.

Key features of the Fallen City 24" x 24" mat

  • Deck plates, gratings and ducts - square grey plates bolted together into sectors, rows of cross-braced steel gratings and vent grilles, ribbed ducts in rusted frames bending round corners, and manhole covers, with yellow-black hazard stripes running along the seams.
  • Rubble, loose plates, open ground - heaps of broken concrete, deck plates knocked loose and lying askew, rusted sheets of metal and rust-red stains, with wide stretches of split concrete between the built-up sectors - room for your walls, bulkheads and containers.
  • Two feet square for seven games - Games Workshop's Zone Mortalis Floor Tile Set covers exactly this area, the Core Space starter set has terrain for it, and Stargrave, MERCS 2.0, Planet 28, 75-point Space Weirdos and the two-foot fights of Five Parsecs from Home all fit on it.
  • A grass field on request - flip the double-sided mat and you have open grass for a fight beyond the walls; the single-sided version lies on plain anti-slip rubber instead. Either way you get natural rubber two millimetres thick, a printed polyester face and edges cut by laser, and the mat rolls or folds for the shelf.

Where the Fallen City 24" x 24" mat fits

Zone Mortalis in the space of four tiles - Necromunda builds Zone Mortalis boards from floor tiles, and the four 12" tiles in Games Workshop's Floor Tile Set cover the same 2' x 2' as this mat; set-up then adds doors, which a door terminal can lock, plus barricades and ductways, and the plated deck sits naturally under columns, walls and bulkheads.

Salvage runs in Core Space - trading crews scavenge in the Barrens while the AI-controlled Purge closes in; the threat climbs every turn and every time someone fires a gun that is not silenced, and reaching the objective is not the end - the crew still has to get out with what it found, and anyone left behind may be taken by the Purge.

A race to a data vault in Stargrave - the rulebook offers ten scenarios, one of them a race to find a valuable data vault, and once you know the rules a game takes about two hours.

Five Parsecs from Home on your terms - enemies roll a play style that decides how they deploy and act, and you pick how long the campaign runs, from a short victory condition to a very long one.

Initiative in MERCS 2.0 - every MERC rolls its own d10 for initiative each round, reaction breaks ties, and an activated MERC takes one action - move, act or hold; a MERCS die shows a helmet where a plain d10 has its 10.

Planet 28 and converted figures - the game grew out of the kit-bashing and converting community, and its rules PDF is pay-what-you-want.

Space Weirdos, extras included - the 16-page rules zine comes with a PDF of tokens, hobby advice and a warband sheet.

What makes the Fallen City 24" x 24" mat different

Ruined City lays out streets already in rubble, Aftermatch Plaza a modern square with a single blast crater, and Wasteland an empty highway. Fallen City takes you behind the facades into an industrial sector: a floor of bolted plates, gratings, vents and ducts, broken up by rubble and split concrete rather than paving stones. No Fallen City covers less of the table than this 24" x 24"; the largest is 44" x 90".

Frequently asked questions

Does it work for Halo: Flashpoint or Deadzone (third edition)?

Not without a grid. Both games count movement and shooting in 3" cubes on an eight-by-eight board, their terrain is built to the same grid, and Halo even recommends that no three-by-three block of cubes be left without scenery. This mat has none, so pick a gridded one for those two and use this mat for games measured in inches.

Is there a larger Fallen City?

Yes - Fallen City 36" x 36" covers nine 12" tiles' worth of floor, enough for a three-by-three Zone Mortalis layout, and for Five Parsecs from Home when a battle is set at 3' x 3'.

Which version has the grass?

The double-sided one: turn it over and a green field is ready for open-country games. A single-sided mat has no second print, just anti-slip rubber that holds it in place.

FAQ

How long does it take to make and send my order?

Products from our regular offer are usually made and handed to the carrier within up to 10 business days of your order. If your order needs more time, we let you know by email. Orders paid by bank transfer go into production once the payment reaches us.

How long does delivery take?

Courier shipments within Europe arrive within 3 to 5 business days of dispatch. Parcel post can take up to 2 weeks within the European Union and more than a month outside it. Every order gets a tracking link, so you can follow the parcel all the way to your table.

How much does shipping cost?

Free shipping from 200 EUR within the EU and from 400 USD outside the EU. Below these thresholds, delivery costs depend on the destination and parcel weight. The exact price is shown at checkout.

Do you ship outside Europe?

Yes. Besides Europe, we ship by courier to the United States, Canada and Asia. Courier prices outside Europe depend on the destination and the weight of the parcel and are shown in the cart before you pay.

What payment methods can I use?

You can pay online through Stripe or PayPal, which covers credit cards and many popular banking systems, or by bank transfer. Unpaid bank transfer orders are cancelled five business days after they are placed. All prices in the store are gross prices in euro.

Will I get an invoice?

Yes. On request we issue a receipt or a VAT invoice for your order. It goes into the parcel or arrives by email as a PDF file, sent to the address you gave when ordering.

Will the product look exactly like the photos?

Very close, but not always identical. Phones and monitors show colours in RGB, and each screen renders them a little differently depending on brightness and settings. We print in CMYK with our own calibration and match the print to the design as closely as possible.

Is the size exactly as listed?

Almost. Our materials are cut at high temperatures, so the final dimensions of a mat can differ by up to +/- 5 mm from the listed size. On a gaming table this difference has no effect on play, deployment zones or card layouts.

Can I return this product if it is not right for my table?

Yes. You can withdraw from the purchase within 14 days of receiving it, without giving a reason, by sending us the return form. You cover the cost of sending the product back, and we refund your payment, including the original standard delivery cost. Custom products made to your own design cannot be returned this way.

What if my order arrives damaged or I get the wrong product?

File a complaint with your order number, a short description and photos of the problem. You can choose a refund of the price plus delivery or an exchange for a new or correct product, and we cover the shipping both ways. We respond to every complaint within 14 days.

Can I cancel my order before it arrives?

Yes. You can withdraw from the order at any point until you receive it by sending us a statement, for example the return form. This does not shorten your 14-day right to return the product after delivery.
