Nobody has put this fire out: patches of ash-grey rock have cracked into a fine mesh, every crack lit orange-red from below, and dark red seeps between the stones where the rubble has slumped. Red Blight battlefield puts that ground under your figures on a two-foot rubber square (61 x 61 cm) - exactly the battlefield a Forbidden Psalm warband of five fights across, set in the world of Mörk Borg. Order it double-sided and the reverse shows a green meadow.

Key features of the Red Blight battlefield 24" x 24" mat

  • Cracks lit orange-red - in several places the grey rock is crazed into a mesh of small cracks, and the light inside them runs from copper to bright orange-red, as though the ground underneath were still hot.
  • Dark red pools by the rubble - beside some heaps of stones the ground darkens into thin pools and trickles of deep red - lava, blood or something worse, as your scenario prefers.
  • Ash-grey ground, stones and beams - the rest of the mat is ash-grey rock with a faint purple cast, low piles of broken stone and some old timber, so models stand out clearly and the lines of sight come from your own scenery.
  • Natural rubber under the print - the image is printed on polyester backed with natural rubber two millimetres thick and cut to shape by laser; the single-sided version keeps a plain non-slip underside, the double-sided one carries grass there, and either can be rolled or folded.

Where the Red Blight battlefield 24" x 24" mat fits

Bonfires on Spirit Night - Ysbrydnos Spirit Night, issue 5 of Forbidden Psalm Monthly, brings fire, death and hauntings to the Welsh countryside in May: five scenarios, one about lighting bonfires and passing through them, another a hunt for herbs for the Calan Mai festivities, and monsters from Welsh legend such as the Sheep and the Straw Man.

The Endless Summer - in We Are Dust, issue 7, the Burning Sun brings the horrors of the Endless Summer: a cult wants the season never to end, Sand Worms and the Cult of Dust join the monsters, and new conditions such as Sunburn and Hay Fever come into play.

Demons at dinner - 7 Deadly Sins: Gluttony, issue 6, sends the warband to rescue a captured companion before they are served up, against six demons from the Avatar of Gluttony to the Fork Knight and the Sous Chef - and gluttonous traits let warriors eat corpses or even their own gear to stay in the fight.

Short fights, home-made scenarios - a game of Forbidden Psalm takes twenty to forty minutes, and the core book's random encounter tables let you roll up scenarios of your own, so one red field can host several fights in an evening.

A world with a Blood Countess - Forbidden Psalm borrows its setting from Mörk Borg, by Pelle Nilsson and Johan Nohr, which took ENnie gold in 2020 for Product of the Year, Best Writing and Best Layout and Design; its world holds the limestone palace of the Blood Countess Anthelia and the ice wastes of Kergüs.

What makes the Red Blight battlefield 24" x 24" mat different

Lava Fields is black, ridged lava with heat breaking through, and Green Blight battlefield is this very ground of crazed rock, rubble and old beams under poison-green light and green ooze. Red Blight battlefield swaps the green for heat: orange-red light in the cracks and dark red pools by the stones, on rock with a warmer, purple-grey tone - so you choose the colour that suits your story, not a different layout. Among the Red Blight battlefield sizes this is the smallest; the biggest reaches 72" x 48".

Frequently asked questions

Lava, blood or just scenery?

Whatever your group decides - the print has no rules of its own. Settle before deployment whether the red patches burn, slow models down or simply look grim, and play it the same way all evening.

Should I pick Green Blight or Red Blight?

Both show the same ground and layout; what changes is the colour - green poison and ooze on Green Blight battlefield, orange-red heat and dark red pools on Red Blight battlefield. Choose the one that fits the scenario, or keep both for a campaign that turns from plague to fire.

Is there a second battlefield on the back?

Only on the double-sided version, which shows grassland dotted with bare sandy spots - handy when the warband finally escapes the blight. The single-sided version is just non-slip rubber underneath.

FAQ

How long does it take to make and send my order?

Products from our regular offer are usually made and handed to the carrier within up to 10 business days of your order. If your order needs more time, we let you know by email. Orders paid by bank transfer go into production once the payment reaches us.

How long does delivery take?

Courier shipments within Europe arrive within 3 to 5 business days of dispatch. Parcel post can take up to 2 weeks within the European Union and more than a month outside it. Every order gets a tracking link, so you can follow the parcel all the way to your table.

How much does shipping cost?

Free shipping from 200 EUR within the EU and from 400 USD outside the EU. Below these thresholds, delivery costs depend on the destination and parcel weight. The exact price is shown at checkout.

Do you ship outside Europe?

Yes. Besides Europe, we ship by courier to the United States, Canada and Asia. Courier prices outside Europe depend on the destination and the weight of the parcel and are shown in the cart before you pay.

What payment methods can I use?

You can pay online through Stripe or PayPal, which covers credit cards and many popular banking systems, or by bank transfer. Unpaid bank transfer orders are cancelled five business days after they are placed. All prices in the store are gross prices in euro.

Will I get an invoice?

Yes. On request we issue a receipt or a VAT invoice for your order. It goes into the parcel or arrives by email as a PDF file, sent to the address you gave when ordering.

Will the product look exactly like the photos?

Very close, but not always identical. Phones and monitors show colours in RGB, and each screen renders them a little differently depending on brightness and settings. We print in CMYK with our own calibration and match the print to the design as closely as possible.

Is the size exactly as listed?

Almost. Our materials are cut at high temperatures, so the final dimensions of a mat can differ by up to +/- 5 mm from the listed size. On a gaming table this difference has no effect on play, deployment zones or card layouts.

Can I return this product if it is not right for my table?

Yes. You can withdraw from the purchase within 14 days of receiving it, without giving a reason, by sending us the return form. You cover the cost of sending the product back, and we refund your payment, including the original standard delivery cost. Custom products made to your own design cannot be returned this way.

What if my order arrives damaged or I get the wrong product?

File a complaint with your order number, a short description and photos of the problem. You can choose a refund of the price plus delivery or an exchange for a new or correct product, and we cover the shipping both ways. We respond to every complaint within 14 days.

Can I cancel my order before it arrives?

Yes. You can withdraw from the order at any point until you receive it by sending us a statement, for example the return form. This does not shorten your 14-day right to return the product after delivery.
