RPG Mats Dungeon

The dungeon crawl is the oldest scene in roleplaying, and it still needs the same thing it needed fifty years ago: a floor, walls the GM controls, and a grid to fight on. The Dungeon mat provides the floor and the grid; the marker in the box provides everything else.

What is printed
A cracked stone floor, weathered by time and whatever lives down there, printed in high resolution so the dark atmosphere reads from across the table. Over it, your choice of a 1-inch square grid for standard movement or a hexagonal grid for groups that count in hexes.

Two sizes

• 50x50 cm: a crypt, a guard room, a single encounter on a small table.
• 80x80 cm: a whole dungeon level with corridors, chambers and the room the party should not have opened.

Draw, spring, wipe
The surface takes any whiteboard marker and wipes clean, so the dungeon grows wall by wall as the party explores: sketch the corridor, add the door when they find it, mark the pit after the rogue does. Riddles, secret doors and trap locations appear exactly when the story needs them. At about 1.5 mm the mat is thin enough to roll tight and store with the dice, and durable enough to survive a whole campaign of drawing and erasing.
Imagine the party at a junction: the GM draws three exits, the players argue, the marker hovers. Ten sessions later the same mat has been a crypt, a mine and a dragon’s vault.

Pairs well with
Dry-erase tokens in 1" to 4" sizes mark conditions and areas of effect without cluttering the drawing, and the modular rubber dungeon tiles take over when the group wants pre-printed corridors instead of drawn ones.
