RPG Mat 80x80 cm - Grass with hexagonal grid - compatible with Dungeons & Dragons
Compatible with
The party just left the road and started counting hexes across open country - and you're the one who has to keep track of every step. The Grass Hex mat gives you a realistic grass print under a hex grid, so overland travel doesn't grind the session to a halt while you sketch terrain.
Key features of the Grass Hex mat
- Hex grid, not square - built for hex-based movement, so overland travel, hexcrawl exploration, and wilderness encounters track directly on the print.
- Realistic grass print - a natural grassland backdrop for open plains, forests, meadows, and battlefields, ready without drawing the setting from scratch.
- 0.7 mm thick PVC, dry-erase surface - mark the party's position, terrain features, and encounters, then wipe it clean for the next leg of the journey.
- 80x80 cm (31.5" x 31.5") play area - room for a long stretch of overland travel or a multi-part encounter in one sitting.
- Rollable and scratch-resistant - rolls up for transport, so it travels easily to a friend's table or a convention.
Where it fits in your sessions
Overland and hexcrawl travel - for Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, or any system that tracks movement in hexes, the grid is already in place under an outdoor setting, and the 80x80 cm size covers a full leg of a journey without running off the edge.
Wilderness encounters - when the party gets ambushed off the road, you mark cover, elevation, or enemy positions directly on the grass print instead of describing the field in the abstract.
Recurring journeys - wipe the mat clean after each leg of the trip, so one mat covers a whole overland campaign instead of a single encounter.
What makes the Grass Hex mat different
Most grass-themed dry-erase mats use a square grid built for room-by-room combat, and most hex-grid mats are left plain so you draw the setting yourself. The Grass Hex mat pairs the two - a realistic outdoor print with a hex grid underneath - so groups running hex-based travel and exploration get a themed surface instead of a blank hex sheet, with the 80x80 cm size giving the journey room to unfold.
Frequently asked questions
Is this the same as the square-grid Grass mat?
No - this version uses a hexagonal grid, built for systems that track movement in hexes. The Grass mat is also offered with a square grid, which matches square-based tactical rules more directly.
Is the 80x80 cm size available with both grid types?
Yes - the Grass mat comes in 50x50 cm and 80x80 cm, each with a hexagonal or square grid option. This listing is the 80x80 cm mat with the hex grid.
Do I get one mat or a set?
One mat - you choose the size and grid type, and the price is for that single mat.
Can I fold the mat for storage?
No - dry-erase mats shouldn't be folded, since this can damage the dry-erase coating. The mat is rollable, so store and carry it rolled.
FAQ
How long does it take to make and send my order?
Products from our regular offer are usually made and handed to the carrier within up to 10 business days of your order. If your order needs more time, we let you know by email. Orders paid by bank transfer go into production once the payment reaches us.
How long does delivery take?
Courier shipments within Europe arrive within 3 to 5 business days of dispatch. Parcel post can take up to 2 weeks within the European Union and more than a month outside it. Every order gets a tracking link, so you can follow the parcel all the way to your table.
How much does shipping cost?
Free shipping from 200 EUR within the EU and from 400 USD outside the EU. Below these thresholds, delivery costs depend on the destination and parcel weight. The exact price is shown at checkout.
Do you ship outside Europe?
Yes. Besides Europe, we ship by courier to the United States, Canada and Asia. Courier prices outside Europe depend on the destination and the weight of the parcel and are shown in the cart before you pay.
What payment methods can I use?
You can pay online through Stripe or PayPal, which covers credit cards and many popular banking systems, or by bank transfer. Unpaid bank transfer orders are cancelled five business days after they are placed. All prices in the store are gross prices in euro.
Will I get an invoice?
Yes. On request we issue a receipt or a VAT invoice for your order. It goes into the parcel or arrives by email as a PDF file, sent to the address you gave when ordering.
Will the product look exactly like the photos?
Very close, but not always identical. Phones and monitors show colours in RGB, and each screen renders them a little differently depending on brightness and settings. We print in CMYK with our own calibration and match the print to the design as closely as possible.
Is the size exactly as listed?
Almost. Our materials are cut at high temperatures, so the final dimensions of a mat can differ by up to +/- 5 mm from the listed size. On a gaming table this difference has no effect on play, deployment zones or card layouts.
Can I return this product if it is not right for my table?
Yes. You can withdraw from the purchase within 14 days of receiving it, without giving a reason, by sending us the return form. You cover the cost of sending the product back, and we refund your payment, including the original standard delivery cost. Custom products made to your own design cannot be returned this way.
What if my order arrives damaged or I get the wrong product?
File a complaint with your order number, a short description and photos of the problem. You can choose a refund of the price plus delivery or an exchange for a new or correct product, and we cover the shipping both ways. We respond to every complaint within 14 days.
Can I cancel my order before it arrives?
Yes. You can withdraw from the order at any point until you receive it by sending us a statement, for example the return form. This does not shorten your 14-day right to return the product after delivery.
