2D Historical Terrains

Historical wargaming lives on the details: the road a column is stuck on, the hedge a squad is hiding behind, the ford everyone wants. 3D versions of those details fill a car boot. These flat rubber pieces fill a backpack and do the same job on the table.

Roads for two scales
Every road set has 17 pieces: a crossroads, two T-junctions, turns and straights, enough for a full network across a 6'x4' table. Choose the scale and the surface:

  • 15 mm, 7.6 cm / 3" wide, for Flames of War and Team Yankee: Paved cobbles, Muddy, Winter muddy, Asphalt and Old asphalt.
  • 28 mm, 16.2 cm / 6.3" wide, for Bolt Action and other 28 mm games: the same five surfaces.

Ground, cover and crossings

  • Trenches: straight 13x7.5 cm and bent 7.5x7.5 cm sections that link into a dug-in line.
  • Field: three pieces of farmed ground, 13.5x13.5 to 17.5x17.5 cm, for bocage country and Eastern Front farmland.
  • Hills, Forest, Rough terrain and Pond: the natural features every period shares.
  • Stone Bridges and Wooden Bridges: 15x11 cm crossings for the river and the fight over it.
  • House: a 13x15 cm building footprint to anchor a village.

Saga tournament set
Thirteen terrain pieces in one set, built to the Saga tournament layout: a full table of Dark Age scenery out of one box.
Imagine a Bolt Action table in Normandy: a 28 mm muddy road running between two fields, a house at the crossroads, a trench line on the far side. Four sets, five minutes, and the platoon has somewhere to fight.

Why rubber terrain
Every piece is 2 mm natural rubber with a polyester print top and laser-cut edges. The rubber backing grips the mat, so a road stays a road for the whole game, and the whole collection rolls up with your mat.

Our terrain is compatible with the games named above but is not an official product of their publishers. Browse the historical terrain and lay out your battlefield.
