The Battlefield expansion moves the battles of Heroes of Might & Magic III: The Board Game from unit cards to miniatures on a hex board. Winter Forest gives that fight a snowfield: a 57 x 42 cm rubber mat with the same 15 x 11 hex grid and deployment zones as the expansion's combat board, printed over snow with a frozen forest along the far edge.
Key features of the Heroes - Winter Forest mat
- A drop-in battle board - the hexes and deployment zones follow the combat board from the Battlefield box, so the expansion's rules, its obstacle tokens and your faction miniatures go straight onto the mat.
- Snow from edge to edge - white snow with tufts of grass breaking through, boulders and fallen logs on the horizon, and a line of snow-laden spruces and bare trees with mountains behind them.
- Marked deployment zones - the two hexes nearest each short edge are shaded grey in every row, so both armies can see where they may set up.
- Single-sided, 2 mm natural rubber - an anti-slip rubber back and laser-cut edges; the print sits on a polyester top layer, and the mat rolls or folds for storage.

Where the Winter Forest battlefield fits
Tower on home ground - in the PC game snow was the native terrain of the Tower, and the board game brings the Tower back as an expansion faction, so its armies can hold a snowfield again.
Skirmish mode - Battlefield's Skirmish mode is a 1 vs 1 game built around the fight itself; on Winter Forest every skirmish becomes a winter battle.
Winter campaigns - Adventure mode replaces the map tiles with Adventure cards; if your group plays a story set in the frozen north, the snowfield sets the scene for each fight.
What makes the Winter Forest mat different
The Battlefield box holds a single combat board. Winter Forest is one of five Heroes mats that repeat its grid on different terrain - Winter Forest, Desert, Swamp, Cave and Lava - so the ground can change from game to game while the rules stay the same. Here the snow covers the whole field, and the grey zones and thin hex lines read clearly against it.

Is this an official Heroes of Might & Magic III product?
No - Winter Forest is an unofficial mat compatible with the Battlefield expansion. Archon Studio and Ubisoft do not make or license it.
Do I need the Battlefield expansion to use it?
Yes. The core game fights battles on a 4 x 5 combat board with unit cards; hexes, deployment zones and obstacle rules come from the Battlefield expansion, which also needs faction miniatures.
How many hexes are on the mat?
165 - a grid of 15 x 11 hexes on 57 x 42 cm (22" x 16.5"), the same size of battlefield as in the PC game.

How long does it take to make and send my order?
Products from our regular offer are usually made and handed to the carrier within up to 10 business days of your order. If your order needs more time, we let you know by email. Orders paid by bank transfer go into production once the payment reaches us.
How long does delivery take?
Courier shipments within Europe arrive within 3 to 5 business days of dispatch. Parcel post can take up to 2 weeks within the European Union and more than a month outside it. Every order gets a tracking link, so you can follow the parcel all the way to your table.
How much does shipping cost?
Free shipping from 200 EUR within the EU and from 400 USD outside the EU. Below these thresholds, delivery costs depend on the destination and parcel weight. The exact price is shown at checkout.
Do you ship outside Europe?
Yes. Besides Europe, we ship by courier to the United States, Canada and Asia. Courier prices outside Europe depend on the destination and the weight of the parcel and are shown in the cart before you pay.
What payment methods can I use?
You can pay online through Stripe or PayPal, which covers credit cards and many popular banking systems, or by bank transfer. Unpaid bank transfer orders are cancelled five business days after they are placed. All prices in the store are gross prices in euro.
Will I get an invoice?
Yes. On request we issue a receipt or a VAT invoice for your order. It goes into the parcel or arrives by email as a PDF file, sent to the address you gave when ordering.
Will the product look exactly like the photos?
Very close, but not always identical. Phones and monitors show colours in RGB, and each screen renders them a little differently depending on brightness and settings. We print in CMYK with our own calibration and match the print to the design as closely as possible.
Is the size exactly as listed?
Almost. Our materials are cut at high temperatures, so the final dimensions of a mat can differ by up to +/- 5 mm from the listed size. On a gaming table this difference has no effect on play, deployment zones or card layouts.
Can I return this product if it is not right for my table?
Yes. You can withdraw from the purchase within 14 days of receiving it, without giving a reason, by sending us the return form. You cover the cost of sending the product back, and we refund your payment, including the original standard delivery cost. Custom products made to your own design cannot be returned this way.
What if my order arrives damaged or I get the wrong product?
File a complaint with your order number, a short description and photos of the problem. You can choose a refund of the price plus delivery or an exchange for a new or correct product, and we cover the shipping both ways. We respond to every complaint within 14 days.
Can I cancel my order before it arrives?
Yes. You can withdraw from the order at any point until you receive it by sending us a statement, for example the return form. This does not shorten your 14-day right to return the product after delivery.
