Tactics board
Compatible with
  • A Song of Ice & Fire

A frozen expanse where the fighting happens on bare ice - white and pale blue sheets mottled with frost, with nothing to hide behind but the cold. This Hits and Crits rubber mat puts that battle on a 4' x 4' battlefield with deployment zones and objective locations printed in place, and the tactics board along one side.

Key features of the Hits and Crits Ice mat

  • Ice battlefield - a frozen battlefield of white and pale-blue ice, mottled with frost and cracks - open ground that puts every unit in plain view; one of the designs in the Hits and Crits ASOIAF range.
  • Setup printed on the battlefield - deployment zones and objective locations are marked on the mat, so getting a game ready takes less measuring and leaves less room for setup mistakes.
  • Tactics board built into the side - choose the standard board, a 10.5" strip with the five tactics zones and spaces for each player's deck, discard pile, tactics cards and NCUs, or the larger 15" Advanced board with extra room for Mission Cards, tactics zones, tokens and game effects.
  • 2 mm natural rubber that grips the table - the anti-slip back keeps the mat in place, movement trays glide over the polyester face, and the mat wears better than a paper battlefield.
  • Laid out by tournament players - designed with Hits and Crits, whose players compete in ASOIAF events and built the layout around what both competitive and casual games need.

Where the Hits and Crits Ice mat fits

Club nights and tournament practice - unroll the mat, put down terrain and armies, and play: zones and objectives are already marked, and both players' cards and NCUs sit on the board strip instead of spilling onto the battlefield.

Running an event - 4' x 4' is the table size CMON's tournament guidelines suggest for most events, and identical mats on every table cut down on setup questions between rounds.

Matching the table to the battle - Ice is the winter option for fighting beyond the Wall, with painted units standing out sharply against the pale surface.

What makes the Hits and Crits Ice mat different

A typical setup for this game is a plain 4' x 4' mat plus a tactics board bought as a separate sideboard, with deployment and objectives measured out every time. This mat puts the battlefield, the zones, the objective locations and the board on one 58.5" x 48" sheet of rubber, so nothing shifts between them mid-game. The board itself comes in two sizes: the standard 10.5" version covers decks, discards, tactics cards and NCUs, while the 15" Advanced version adds room for Mission Cards, extra tactics zones, tokens and game effects.

Frequently asked questions

Is this an official CMON mat?

No - Playmats.eu makes it with Hits and Crits for A Song of Ice and Fire: Tabletop Miniatures Game. It's an independent, compatible accessory, not produced or licensed by CMON.

Is the battlefield the right size for standard games?

Yes - the battlefield is 4' x 4' (122 x 122 cm), the size the game's tournament guidelines suggest for most events. The board strip sits next to it, so plan on a table at least 148.5 cm (58.5") long for the standard-board version.

Standard or Advanced tactics board - which one should I pick?

The standard 10.5" board covers the five zones, decks, discards, tactics cards and NCUs. Pick the 15" Advanced board if you want dedicated room for Mission Cards, extra tactics zones, tokens and game effects; it makes the mat longer.

Are other battlefield designs available?

Yes - this product is the Ice battlefield; the other designs in the range are available via the design selector on the product page.

Can I fold it for transport?

Yes - it can be rolled or folded. Rolling is kinder for long-term storage, and any fold lines flatten out once the mat is lying on the table.

FAQ

How long does it take to make and send my order?

Products from our regular offer are usually made and handed to the carrier within up to 10 business days of your order. If your order needs more time, we let you know by email. Orders paid by bank transfer go into production once the payment reaches us.

How long does delivery take?

Courier shipments within Europe arrive within 3 to 5 business days of dispatch. Parcel post can take up to 2 weeks within the European Union and more than a month outside it. Every order gets a tracking link, so you can follow the parcel all the way to your table.

How much does shipping cost?

Free shipping from 200 EUR within the EU and from 400 USD outside the EU. Below these thresholds, delivery costs depend on the destination and parcel weight. The exact price is shown at checkout.

Do you ship outside Europe?

Yes. Besides Europe, we ship by courier to the United States, Canada and Asia. Courier prices outside Europe depend on the destination and the weight of the parcel and are shown in the cart before you pay.

What payment methods can I use?

You can pay online through Stripe or PayPal, which covers credit cards and many popular banking systems, or by bank transfer. Unpaid bank transfer orders are cancelled five business days after they are placed. All prices in the store are gross prices in euro.

Will I get an invoice?

Yes. On request we issue a receipt or a VAT invoice for your order. It goes into the parcel or arrives by email as a PDF file, sent to the address you gave when ordering.

Will the product look exactly like the photos?

Very close, but not always identical. Phones and monitors show colours in RGB, and each screen renders them a little differently depending on brightness and settings. We print in CMYK with our own calibration and match the print to the design as closely as possible.

Is the size exactly as listed?

Almost. Our materials are cut at high temperatures, so the final dimensions of a mat can differ by up to +/- 5 mm from the listed size. On a gaming table this difference has no effect on play, deployment zones or card layouts.

Can I return this product if it is not right for my table?

Yes. You can withdraw from the purchase within 14 days of receiving it, without giving a reason, by sending us the return form. You cover the cost of sending the product back, and we refund your payment, including the original standard delivery cost. Custom products made to your own design cannot be returned this way.

What if my order arrives damaged or I get the wrong product?

File a complaint with your order number, a short description and photos of the problem. You can choose a refund of the price plus delivery or an exchange for a new or correct product, and we cover the shipping both ways. We respond to every complaint within 14 days.

Can I cancel my order before it arrives?

Yes. You can withdraw from the order at any point until you receive it by sending us a statement, for example the return form. This does not shorten your 14-day right to return the product after delivery.
