Undergrowth 24”x24” / 61x61 cm - mat for wargames
Compatible with
Deep in the woods the ground is soft with moss, grey stone breaks through it here and there, and every hollow is a good spot to wait for someone to walk past. Undergrowth lays that forest floor on 61 x 61 cm (24" x 24") of rubber - the whole Bushido battlefield, the usual Relicblade table, and room enough for Five Leagues from the Borderlands and for The Elder Scrolls: Call to Arms in its 2' x 2' Delves. The double-sided mat has grass on the back.
Key features of the Undergrowth 24" x 24" mat
- Moss over stone and dark earth - a thick layer of olive and yellow-green moss, broken by grey stone and dark soil, with shadowed hollows in between - a floor for the trees, rocks and ruins you set out.
- The Bushido battlefield, edge to edge - Bushido is played on a 24-inch square; the standard Relicblade table measures two feet on a side, Five Leagues from the Borderlands fits on 2' x 2', and some Call to Arms Delves need no more.
- Grass underneath, if you want it - on the double-sided mat a green grass print covers the reverse, so forest and open field share one mat; the single-sided version grips the table through its bare anti-slip underside.
- Laser-cut natural rubber - the design sits on a polyester layer over a 2 mm natural rubber base; wipe it with a damp cloth after a game and store it rolled or folded.

Where the Undergrowth 24" x 24" mat fits
Bushido warbands from the Jwar Isles - each side fields six to ten models with their own profile cards, and a game takes one to two hours; Ki builds up during play and pays for Ki feats, and in melee each player secretly splits their dice between attack and defence. Most games draw on a pool of around 8 to 10 terrain pieces - the moss fills the ground between them.
Relicblade's woodland faction - the Lostwood Enclave set brings a wild elf druid and pathfinder, a cave bear and an arboleth sentinel, one of the treefolk of the Lostwood realm; a mossy forest floor is their kind of ground.
Forests that count in Five Leagues - a forest is Area terrain: figures inside it are in cover, and line of sight passes through no more than 3" of it. The starter scenario puts a hill, ruin or forest near the middle of a 2' x 2' table, with single trees and rocks scattered around.
Call to Arms adversaries in the trees - in Delve Mode the game's AI runs the enemy; in GamesRadar's review its archers hung back and took cover, so the trees and stones you add change how a Delve plays.
What makes the Undergrowth 24" x 24" mat different
Among our green battle mats, Grassland and Universal Grass are open grass, Swamp puts bog water and fallen trunks into the print, and Jungle shows mossy stone tiles. Undergrowth is forest floor with no water, roads or fallen trees in the print, so the cover is the scenery you bring. 24" x 24" is its smallest size - the design runs up to 72" x 48" - and it is compatible with Bushido, Relicblade, Five Leagues from the Borderlands and Call to Arms.
Frequently asked questions
Are Bushido deployment zones printed on it?
No - the print has no zones or objectives. For zones in the artwork, see our Hits and Crits Bushido mats, also 24" x 24".
Do all four games fit on 2' x 2'?
Three do: Bushido, Relicblade and Five Leagues from the Borderlands, which also has a 3' x 3' option. Call to Arms mostly needs 3' x 3', so this mat covers only its 2' x 2' Delves; for bigger fights, take Undergrowth 36" x 36".
Can I have grass as well as forest?
Yes, with the double-sided mat: its reverse shows green grass. On the single-sided version the reverse is bare anti-slip rubber, which stops the mat sliding on the table.
FAQ
How long does it take to make and send my order?
Products from our regular offer are usually made and handed to the carrier within up to 10 business days of your order. If your order needs more time, we let you know by email. Orders paid by bank transfer go into production once the payment reaches us.
How long does delivery take?
Courier shipments within Europe arrive within 3 to 5 business days of dispatch. Parcel post can take up to 2 weeks within the European Union and more than a month outside it. Every order gets a tracking link, so you can follow the parcel all the way to your table.
How much does shipping cost?
Free shipping from 200 EUR within the EU and from 400 USD outside the EU. Below these thresholds, delivery costs depend on the destination and parcel weight. The exact price is shown at checkout.
Do you ship outside Europe?
Yes. Besides Europe, we ship by courier to the United States, Canada and Asia. Courier prices outside Europe depend on the destination and the weight of the parcel and are shown in the cart before you pay.
What payment methods can I use?
You can pay online through Stripe or PayPal, which covers credit cards and many popular banking systems, or by bank transfer. Unpaid bank transfer orders are cancelled five business days after they are placed. All prices in the store are gross prices in euro.
Will I get an invoice?
Yes. On request we issue a receipt or a VAT invoice for your order. It goes into the parcel or arrives by email as a PDF file, sent to the address you gave when ordering.
Will the product look exactly like the photos?
Very close, but not always identical. Phones and monitors show colours in RGB, and each screen renders them a little differently depending on brightness and settings. We print in CMYK with our own calibration and match the print to the design as closely as possible.
Is the size exactly as listed?
Almost. Our materials are cut at high temperatures, so the final dimensions of a mat can differ by up to +/- 5 mm from the listed size. On a gaming table this difference has no effect on play, deployment zones or card layouts.
Can I return this product if it is not right for my table?
Yes. You can withdraw from the purchase within 14 days of receiving it, without giving a reason, by sending us the return form. You cover the cost of sending the product back, and we refund your payment, including the original standard delivery cost. Custom products made to your own design cannot be returned this way.
What if my order arrives damaged or I get the wrong product?
File a complaint with your order number, a short description and photos of the problem. You can choose a refund of the price plus delivery or an exchange for a new or correct product, and we cover the shipping both ways. We respond to every complaint within 14 days.
Can I cancel my order before it arrives?
Yes. You can withdraw from the order at any point until you receive it by sending us a statement, for example the return form. This does not shorten your 14-day right to return the product after delivery.
